What it is
A major scale with a flat 7th. Relaxed, earthy and bluesy: the sound of rock and blues rock.
How to use it
Play it over dominant 7 chords, and over major chords that move to a ♭VII chord (I to ♭VII to IV), common in rock, blues and country. The ♭7 is the characteristic note.
