Major guitar scale
See the Major scale on a guitar fretboard, learn its notes and degrees, and practice it in any key.
What it is
The standard bright, happy sounding scale of Western music: stable and resolved. Its pattern of whole and half steps is what every other scale is compared with.
How to use it
Play it over major chords and major 7 chords. It is the home scale of most pop, rock and folk songs. End phrases on chord tones (1, 3, 5). The 4th is the note to be careful with over a major chord.
