What it is
Natural minor with a raised 7th. The jump of three half steps between the ♭6 and the 7 gives it a classical, dramatic and Middle Eastern sound.
How to use it
Play it over the V7 chord of a minor key and over the minor tonic chord (m or m(maj7)). The raised 7th makes the V7 to i resolution strong.
