Double Harmonic guitar scale
See the Double Harmonic scale on a guitar fretboard, learn its notes and degrees, and practice it in any key.
What it is
A major scale with a flat 2nd and a flat 6th, so two jumps of three half steps. Also called Byzantine or Arabic scale: exotic, intense and dramatic.
How to use it
Play it over major chords in Middle Eastern, Greek and surf rock styles. The flat 2nd and flat 6th give the exotic colour: lean on them.
